The shutter speed was set at second to freeze Max after his cut back.

The shutter speed was set at second and shows almost a ghost image of Max. The camera was placed on a tripod so the rest of the scene is sharp.

The shutter speed was set for second, but Max was coming toward the camera, so he stayed at the same relative position and is not blurred (note the blur of his feet: they were moving to control the skateboard).

Panning with your subject can be a lot of fun and give you some unique images. It is not easy, though, so try different settings to get it right. I tried a few different shutter speeds, and worked the best.
